UFO

Filed under: Tech — trunkneck @ 12:55 pm

something, anything that would bring me closer to knowing the truth about these things hanging in our skies around the world.

I have seen UFOs while growing up in the pine barrens of New Jersey. One, literally six feet in front of me. Not what you might think right off the bat though. It was a small glowing translucent red orb the size of a softball that zipped across the road at 2:30AM in the woods of New Jersey. Thanks to my brother in law that was with me no one thinks I’m crazy. (At least not because of the sighting lol) If I had not yet been intrigued enough by UFOs to do anything about it in the past, that moment of clarity as to wether these things are really of extraterrestial origin or not certainly had me thinking of what I might do about it.

When I was younger than I am now, there was no internet as we know it and gathering information was more difficult than today. Obtaining material and information on UFOs was a tedious, laborious and expensive project having to do primarily with books, traveling to conferences and the occasional spoof about UFOs on television. Needless to say this got me no where. However today it’s much different. I think because the free flow of information on the “Information Highway” has enlightened so many people on the subject of UFOs it is becoming more and more mainstream. That and the sheer number of video recorders and digital camaras. If for no other reason than the sheer number of witnesses coming forth from the ranks of the goverment. Deathbed confessions even.

I have joined MUFON. I have started work with Major George Filer USAF Retired here in New Jersey as he is the Eastern Director of MUFON. Because of my technical background I’ve been given the task of sorting through the videos sent to him, in particular from New Mexico. Some of this footage makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

Only time will vindicate the believers.

The neglected page

Filed under: Tech — trunkneck @ 10:58 am

I have been neglecting the Blog….life happens. “They” say you slow down with age, I don’t see how that can be true. If it is, I am one of the exceptions to that rule because I have never been busier.

My son did a bit of paintballing this past weekend, he wants to go out again this weekend too. Below are a couple photos of last weekends excursion into “Speed Ball”. It’s a form of paintball except you don’t creep around the woods in camo, you are on an open course the size of a football field usually completely netted in on the sides and top (The fields are all different sizes, rules etc) with inflatable bunkers and a handfull of people on each team with different variations, capture the flag, deathmatch etc. They start out on their respective ends and when the whistles blows it’s ON. I mean paint flies everywhere. Hence the name “Speed Ball”.

He turned 16 last week and he was expressing an interest in the paintball area, so we got him outfitted with the full face/helmet anti fog do-hicky, a large 20oz flame modded tank, a chest and back protector, gloves made for handling the marker and prtecting your hands at the same time, a Battle swab for clearing the barrel of a cut paintball. A cut paintball is a ball that does not quite make it into the chamber….but almost and gets chopped by the sliding bolt. Yes, you guessed it, a big sloppy mess which is why they need a “swab” to clear it out fast so they can get back into the action before becoming a splat on the bunker themselves.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and I want to say hello to Mr. Filer who is a guest on the page today.

The next post I will have ready a Land Rover mod post that my friend Gordon did, he put a snorkel and suspension kit on his “Red Rover”, talk about badass. This thing can articulate something like 2 feet on each tire any which way since the modification. You know those ramps you can pull a car up onto with the front tires? Well, he can drive up one of those on one tire while still having the other three sitting totally flat on the ground. I think you will enjoy it when I get it finished. Alot of back woods off roading etc.
